MediaDiff - Diff for Static Images
Brothánek, Jan ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on comparison of digital documents, especially static images. This paper presents algorithms, which are usable for general data comparison and also specific algorithms major in image data comparison. We introduce possibilities of document comparison which are now available for users. On the basis of this current situation, a prototype of new modular application MediaDiff for various documents comparison is designed and implemented. We describe in detail each stage of the application development, problems which had arisen and their solutions. The possibilities of future development of the application are discussed.
Analysis of Network Security Alerts
Dobeš, Erik ; Žádník, Martin (referee) ; Wrona, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this work is to find groups of IP addresses in network security reports, which were detected in the same, or very similar, time interval. The work introduces an algorithm, which transforms data from security reports into time series. Between all the time series, similar pairs are searched. Subsequently, in the found pairs, we are looking for similar threesomes, in which we try to find similar foursomes, etc. The created solution successfully found 208 similar groups in the set of analyzed data, the largest of which contains 11 similar IP addresses. Based on the data found it is possible to detect machines that are part of the so-called botnet in network security reports.
Processing of iris images for biometric applications
Osičková, Kristýna ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
Biometrics is a method of recognizing the identity of a person based on unique biological characteristics that are unique to each person. The methods of biometric identification is currently becoming increasingly widespread in various sectors. This work is focused on the identification of a person by iris images. The introductory section describes the principles of the well-known methods for biometric applications and the next part describes the design method and its implementation in Matlab. In the practical part, fast radial symmetry method is used for detection of pupil, from which it derives further image processing. Two dimensional discrete welvet transform is used here. The proposed algorithm is tested on databases CASIA-Iris- Interval and database IITD.
Attacking biometric hashing via optimization techniques
Mlčáková, Kristýna ; Mokrý, Ondřej (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis deals with biometric hashing, which is a two-factor authentication method that combines a secret key with biometric data in order to create a secure biomeric template for authentication purposes. The thesis first discusses the theoretical aspects of this issue and then focuses on the implementation of this concept. The paper also describes attacks on biometric hashing systems that are subsequently implemented. Practically performed attacks are based on the assumption that the attacker knows the user’s secret key and biohashes stored in the database. Two methods of attacks are applied. These methods are able to reconstruct the biometric data of an authorized user and related biohashes. Methods are based on 1-bit compressive sensing approach. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the effectivity of the attacks on biometric hashing systems and to make a conclusion about the security of such systems.
